Ace's sire is best known for his very short time with Windermere Percheron's and Dennis Mays. Gambler was a 4-time All-American, 3-time National Champion stallion, as well as a champion at the Royal Winter Fair. It is known amongst horseman that Gambler produced chestnut and being a heterozygous black stallion was able to do so because of his dam, and grandsire, Highview Dragano. Any time Gambler produced red meant that the mare he was bred to was also a contributor of red.

Ace was color genetics tested for red by UC Davis and found to not be carrying the gene. Ace is literally Gambler's only living and actively producing son left.

Ace is a leggy stallion who blends both modern elements as well as some of the older characteristics of the Percheron breed. Ace is one stallion who has absolutely no lack of heel or foot and needs no modification in the shoe department. He is kept barefoot year round and has extremely thick and hard hooves, something we are seeing passed on to his offspring. Ace has a high level of stamina, is very active at the trot, but has a very even temperament which he is also passing on. We have so far been priveledged with two foal crops by Ace and are looking forward to our fourth in 2016. Ace so far seems to largely let the mare dictate many things in his foals with minor characteristics being contributed here and there.

Color-wise Ace has given his Roan gene more often than not. 12 of 18 foals have been Blue Roan.
