Pipe Dream Percherons is owned solely by Diane Blanzy and is literally a one woman operation. Thankfully strong ties to family fills in when I truly can use a hand.

I was raised with horses and was a typical horse crazy child and teen. I spent countless hours in the saddle. Learning how to ride, then re-learning how to truly ride when the days of 4-H came into play. All of my artwork and photography centered around them. I've spent countless hours pouring over pedigrees and tend to dedicate large sections of my time to studying old books, pedigrees, and photographs. I'll follow any lead and when I set my mind to something I stick hard with it. I am a very dedicated individual and dyed in the wool in many aspects of my life.

I have been around multiple breeds of horses throughout my life. The majority of my teen years were filled with Arabian and Arabian cross horses even though I myself owned a Morgan gelding by the name of Bodi. I was in love with the bay Morgan stallions that showed at Ludington. I met my first Percheron breeding program in 2001 and found what would be my calling. I was greatly attracted to those big bodied hefty dapple grey Percheron mares and black Percheron stallion that lived towards Edmore, MI. Little did I know that their type and pedigree's were being bred away from and falling out of popularity. I had always prefered baroque types. I bought my first Percheron mare at a small auction. She was destined for an amish life but there was something about her. Her name was Wixom and she had been seperated from her papers. The rest is history. I started buying mares, breeding to stallions as I could. Raised a few foals. Learned more lessons. Fell away from my program and came back with a dedication to what I was truly meant to do. I had been studying and following Blue Roan Percherons since 2003. This would be the beginning of what I was known for. I branched into Bay Percherons in 2009 and over the next few years would realize they were disappearing. There were no breeders of Bay Percherons left with the exception of one man. I know one person cannot keep it together alone and decided this was where I belonged. As I had followed these horses, who better to raise them.

Welcome to Pipe Dream Percherons. The beginning of something bigger. Where there is no color predjudice. Where a good pedigree is a good pedigree. Where a good horse is a good horse. I see the purpose of the new ways yet I value the old. Time to blend the good of both worlds.
