MARES

of

Pipe Dream

The true backbone of every breeding program. In this day and age many breeders put so much emphasis on the stallion when the truly strong breeding programs focused on the stength of their mares and dam-lines within their herds. Mares contribute just as much to every breeding and as much forethought should go into what mares you stand within your pastures and breed to your stallions. I was brought up with Arabian horses and dam-line's were something to follow and read from. I use this same ideal in my own Percheron breeding program. The largest dam-line I own to date descends to my original mare who also still stands within my pastures, Pinecrest Wixom. Wixom is a daughter of Bar-land's Tyson (Pegasus) x Eagle Creek Warmaid (Knapp-Tyme Renegade). Wixom was Warmaid's only daughter as she was orphaned at 2 months of age. Wixom is a one of a kind and truly eludes me on recreating all that she is. Her daughters are no less amazing mares in their own right and 3 of them stand in my pastures. PDP is also home to a few other mares including two bay half sisters, and a Canadian bred mare.
